Farewell Assembly

Eastmeadows primary students paid tribute to principal Mr. Deniz Yildirim at a farewell assembly on the 23rd of November. Students prepared poems, farewell cards, a slideshow, speeches, songs and a play for him. There were certainly a lot of emotions and tears!

Mr Yildirim has been with Sirius College for 6 years and is now moving to Adelaide to work in one of our sister schools. Under his leadership, the EMP campus has gone through a lot of positive changes. Staff and students will miss him and wish him the absolute best.

Twilight Movie Night

On Friday the 30th of November, the community of Sirius College Eastmeadows Primary grabbed their blankets, cushions, beanbags, camp chairs and met at school to enjoy a pleasant evening under the stars! The night consisted of an outdoor experience of a movie screening to the very popular movie ‘THE BOSS BABY'. Lots of yummy food and drinks were available for families to enjoy. Our school community, especially the children loved sitting on a camping chair, or simply just being wrapped in a blanket! Adults enjoyed the opportunity of being outdoors and catching up with family and friends!

Werribee open Range Zoo

Reflections from Grade 3D students

On Tuesday the 20th of November, we went to the Werribee Zoo with the entire grade 3s. A lady called Kat took us for a tour. We first saw cheaters. Then we were allowed to go in the Rangers only area. We got to feed and have a look at the meerkats.

After we had recess, I had an Oreo bar and French fries. Then we had a safari tour that was fun. We saw rhinos, giraffes, zebras and more roaming across our stunning open Savannah on a 40 minutes Safari tour. A lady talked about the animals like for giraffes, she said they are very tall.

Then, we walked to have lunch and we saw a hippo water park. We reached the area where we needed to have lunch. I had chicken Nuggets and Water.

When we finished eating we played a little. Then we went to listen to a man that was talking about the Hippos, that was interesting for me.

After we went to see the lions. Afterwards, we went to the shops because some people had money to buy things. Then we hopped on the bus to go back to school. I learned that animals are a fun topic to write and learn about.

Hana from 3D

On Tuesday 21/11/18 me and my class went to Werribee Open Range Zoo. When I got to school, my class and I, walked over to were the buses that were waiting for us. We hopped on the bus, after the long drive we finally got there. When we got out of the buses, we went over to the front of the zoo. After about a 2 minute wait we met our zoo instructor Kat.

After we met Kat we started walking towards the Meerkats. Once we went into the Meerkats section Kat put us into 3 groups. Kat told us we were going to make the Meerkats food. We got told they eat a type of insect called Mill worms. Kat chose 1 person from every group, she chose Cydra, Zayed and Mahnoor to drop their food in their home. After that we went to the Safari Tour Bus Stop, because there were seats that we could sit on.

We ate recess and soon later we went to the lion talk and so 6-8 of them. After the lion talk we ran to the Safari Tour Bus Stop hopped on the bus. Seeing rhinos, giraffes, zebras and more across our stunning open savannah on a 40 minute Safari Tour. Then we went and ate lunch in the Hippo Beach Cafe. After that, we listened to the Hippo talk and observed what the Hippos were doing. Then the people that had money bought some things from the Safari shop. Then we got back into the school bus and came back to school.

Grade 6

Farewell From Grade 6D

Dear 2018 year six graduates,

2018 has been filled with countless emotions. We built and grew friendships, memories, happiness and love. Together we all created a strong bond and worked as a team. Some of us may not be on the same page but we saw the ins and outs of the art of friendship. This year we went to China town, Rod Laver Arena, Camp to Lake Dewar, the Annual Athletics Carnival and Funfields .Camp to Lake Dewar was an exceptional experience filled with adventures and journeys with different students and teachers. Our co-ordinator Miss Azize was generous enough to let us stay in the cabin with our friends. We all enjoyed ourselves and came back to school with a smile on our face, after every excursion. We’re all aware that year six is our last year in primary school. The amazing year six teachers organized a year full of fun. We wish you an amazing future and work hard for your career goals !
